It is a fan page launched by Taiwan LGBT Family Rights Advocacy, the non-governmental organization which devotes to the pursuits of reproductive, parenting, and partnership rights of LGBT in Taiwan. We wish sincerely to have your blessings here for the first ever public same-sex marriage with Buddhist theme between Fish Huang and Yu Ya-ting, both members of Taiwan LGBT Family Rights Advocacy, who have hoped, by opening their marriage to the general public, to push for the legalization of same-sex marriage in Taiwan and to generate some peaceful and sturdy belief among people.

       The marriage, co-held by Taiwan LGBT Family Rights Advocacy and Buddhist HongShi College, will accept the most honorable blessing from prestigious Buddhist master Shih Chao-hwei (釋昭慧); Shih will witness this marriage ceremony in Buddhist HongShi College on 11^th August, 2012. Although this is not the first gay marriage in Taiwan, this would be the first public Buddhist same-sex union, especially upon the great support and recognition from the master, which perfectly demonstrates the unbiased love and generosity suggested by Buddhism.

    

       “The first step is always the hardest” as  master Shih once mentioned during interview, people who care about and support the issue of gay family rights, are welcome to leave your positive messages here.
